We are excited to announce that Larry Stout has joined our team as our new Controls Engineer. Larry’s addition represents a strategic investment in expanding and enhancing our controls and mechanical systems offerings, underscoring our commitment to delivering advanced solutions for our clients.
Larry’s journey into controls engineering started at a young age on his family farm, where hands-on projects sparked his curiosity and drive to find creative solutions. “I’ve always been challenged in solving different ways of accomplishing tasks,” Larry shares. “Growing up on a farm, we always had small projects that kept me busy. As an adult, I gravitated to challenging projects and tasks, and the controls field was a perfect fit. Years later, it’s still a passion, not just a job.”
Larry’s expertise spans several controls systems, and he holds the necessary licensing credentials, making him a valuable addition to our team. He’s particularly drawn to this field because it constantly offers new learning opportunities, allowing him to think outside the box and break complex problems into manageable steps.
In his new role, Larry will be responsible for designing, engineering, and integrating control systems into our projects, helping our clients achieve greater efficiency and reliability in their operations. His immediate focus is on creating standardized templates and training our field personnel to confidently operate the systems we install. Larry emphasizes, “I want everyone to feel comfortable about the systems and realize that it’s not magic—just logical processes being followed.”
Looking ahead, Larry is committed to the ongoing development and growth of our controls department. His long-term goals include continuing to train and support his team while working closely on designs that benefit our customers. As Larry puts it, “I’m excited to get back to design and create the templates for the team to grow.”
Outside of work, Larry has a rich array of interests that keep him busy. He coaches Special Olympics softball and basketball, enjoys hiking, and loves taking long motorcycle trips. His personal philosophy—“If you do your best, there’s no reason to be sorry”—guides his approach to both work and life.
Larry is eager to dive into his new role and looks forward to taking on challenging controls questions from our clients. He believes in being early to meetings, embracing challenges, and living in a way that allows him to rest easy at night.
